Many years ago we shared with a group of Malaysian intercessors. I had a word of knowledge for one sister, she was to intercede against government corruption. The sister acknowledged this was her burden, and she regularly prayer walked the government areas in Malaysia.
Years previously, the Holy Spirit also gave me this burden. Sadly I dropped the ball and it was off my radar. Now I am back on the job, praying the good Lord exposes all corruption at government level and bring justice.
When Tun Dr. Mahathir and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim won the 2018 election, people said they could no longer ask for corruption money. There was a change in leadership, because the people were abhorred by government corruption, and demanded change. Prosecutions began.
Now the former PM Najib is in prison serving 6 years for corruption. December 2025, he was sentenced to a further 15 years on charges of embezzling RM2.2B.
Najib is appealing the charges, but I do not hold out much hope for a reprieve. At his sentencing the Judge said, Najib opened a personal bank account. When money was low, the bank contacted Najib and Najib would put money into the account.
Also, Najib’s story changed several times, when defending his actions. It is not possible to deny or explain these facts. I doubt his appeal will succeed.
Former PM Muhyiddin is also being charged with corruption. There are some very suspicious actions, with four lots of RM200,000 donations using consecutive cheques, going into his political party’s account, all on the same day! People do not make donations in this way.
At present, I have not seen any kickbacks for Muhyiddin connecting him with fraud. According to the Court of Appeal, there is no proof of kickbacks. The prosecutors claim, it is Muhyiddin’s influence which led to the donations and this is sufficient to convict him. We pray the truth be known, and justice be done.
The Bible is clear, corruption blinds the eyes to truth and justice. Research has shown it impoverishes a nation, especially the working class. After WW2 America prospered, but everyone prospered together, not just a few elites. This is how it should be.
However, when there is government corruption, only a few elitists prosper and others become poorer. In some cases, the elitists can also become abusive, trying to protect and coverup their corruption.
Several people have died under suspicious circumstances in Malaysia. All these people were trying to expose government corruption! Justice must be served.
Let’s be praying
1. all corruption, at Government level in Malaysia be exposed
2. everyone involved in corruption, be brought to justice
3. wisdom and insight for lawmakers, to introduce effective laws and for the implementation of these laws, to end corruption
Yours in Christ
