Peter Williams uses data from previous strategic voting by Te Pati Maori and Labour, showing how they use and abuse the system. He explains how National can win 7-8 more seats in Parliament, if they abandon their two tick idea and focus on winning more electorates.
Because National has such low ratings, National will not gain many or any Party seats (List Seats) in Parliament. Therefore the two tick strategy is a losing strategy. National members are best to vote NZFirst and Act for their Party vote, ensuring a center right government.

A two tick strategy by National supporters will ensure an extreme left wing government and destruction of New Zealand. We have had that in the past, so let’s not let it happen again. The extremists have not changed, also be careful of politicians who lie, just to get elected.
This dishonesty is becoming prevalent in the States, so don’t let it thrive in New Zealand. Conservatives can make sure New Zealand comes into God’s blessings, as he promised.
Rodney Hide, in another interview, gives voters in Epsom some advice. If everyone votes for National in Epsom, National will gain two more seats and it won’t affect the total number of seats for Act in Parliament. Hence two more seats for center right Parties. Therefore, if National members vote National for their Electoral candidate and give their Party vote to NZFirst or Act, they will ensure a center right Party in Parliament. Peter is still astounded, why PM Luxon and National do not understand how the MMP system works.
Also, people who are considering voting for a minor Party, may be wasting their vote. If a minor Party can not get more than 5% of the total votes, then it would be a wasted vote. Giving these Party votes to NZFirst and Act, will increase the number of center right politicians in Parliament.
We can not allow another extreme left government rule New Zealand. Under former PM Ardern, the economy was destroyed and will take 30 years to recover(PM Luxon).
Thirty percent of New Zealand’s small businesses closed down during covid. The reason is clear, Labour refused to take the advice of experts to end the extended, and destructive lockdowns. (Second Covid Inquiry and Freedom of Information Requests)
Labour, under Arden, bankrupted the country by borrowing billions of dollars to counter covid. Then they wasted half of that money on other, unproductive projects. Do we want this to happen again?
These had an enormous impact on the economy, which will take 30 years to recover. National is struggling to improve the economy after the pandemic, and people do not feel their livelihood has improved.
This goes against National, hence very low poll ratings. Let’s pray wisdom for PM Luxon on strategic voting and how to boost take home pay and reduce costs, before the election.
Some suggest reducing the petrol and diesel tax. This would give immediate release to prices, workers and businesses, boosting National’s chances before the election.
Or, maybe Luxon could give a $5K bonus if voters invest in NZ, by voting National in the election. Or maybe he can make a last minute deal to buy some cheap petrol and diesel!
Let’s be praying wisdom for the Prime Minister and his team. One thing is sure. It is a horrifying thought of the extremists coming back into power.
